About Us
At SCTLI we want to see every woman prioritize her health. Thus, we
are about developing platforms where women can freely discuss what is
happening with their bodies and get the right advice concerning these
issues. We also hope to partner with men in this endeavor knowing that
they play a crucial role in ensuring women’s well-being.
Typically, women place their own health at the bottom of their list of
priorities focusing mainly on their families. As a result, they present
themselves for treatment late making it harder for full treatment to be
achieved and in some cases impossible. The message we want to drive is
that when she takes care of herself, her family benefits because she can
present the best of herself to love and care for them.

Dr. Wakahe qualified as a medical doctor in 1978 and as an obstetrician/gynaecologist in 1984. She has actively consulted and treated patients since and overseen many deliveries. Her passion for women is obvious and for this reason she has sought means to address large audiences of women and empower them with knowledge on matters reproductive health. Founding SCTLI is a means she believes is potent. Through the NGO, women can be empowered with knowledge and encouraged to seek timely medical intervention when necessary. Additionally, men too can be made aware of the important role they play in ensuring that the women in their lives are healthy and equip them with the right information on how they can do so.
